Train Writing

19 Dec

by Mel and Felipe

M: Before the train doors open
F: Take one last look, think forward, not back
M: Because you can’t rewind time
F: Out the doors, turn around.
M: And grasp that feeling by the horns, rising in your chest.
F: Doors close, don’t let your eyes follow that way.
M: It’s crushing, isn’t it? Crippling. Love, regret, wishes, what-ifs.
F: Train starts to move, another missed opportunity.
M: Hear the roar, like a primeval monster. And then silence.
F: The silence, still louder than your heart breaking.
